A pitiful picture around a metaphor
is me talking to myself again
and around the corner is
the encouragement of knowing
I'm not always wrong.
So in the face of physical
or emotional pain
no matter how it adds up
in my lifetime.
Will never equal the sum
of what we've created for ourselves.
